Ryan Braun...Ryan "Brawny"

Ryan Braun, you are a disappointment to every one of your Milwaukee Brewers fans, who faithfully followed you this entire season, as well as every year.
Ryan Braun, the left fielder for the baseball team from Wisconsin, the Milwaukee Brewers, recently tested positive for a performance-enhancing drug, and now faces a possible 50 game suspension from next year's season.  Braun, who gave a urine sample before the playoffs this year, was notified in October that his tests came back positive.  This was about a month before he was named the National League's MVP -- Most Valuable Player.  The quesion, now, is whether or not he'll be stripped of his MVP title.  So far, the Baseball Writers Association of America, who votes on the MVP award, has stated that they will NOT strip Braun of his title if he is suspended.
The Brewer's owner, Mark Attanasio stated "Ryan Braun has been a model citizen in every sense of the word, both in the Milwaukee community and for the Brewers.  Since joining our organization in 2005, he has been a person of character and integrity."  But my question, as well as many other baseball fans, is whether or not a person of "character and integrity" well....cheats.  I love my Ryan Braun, and rooted for him all year as he made his slugging percentage .597, batting average of .332 , 33 home runs and 111 runs batted in.  But now, I've lost all respect for the "MVP" of the National League.  Braun lead the Brewers to their first division title in three decades, and as excited I was as an avid Brew-Crew fan, now I'm almost ashamed at the thought of Braun cheating.  How can Braun be completely happy with himself at getting the title of MVP, or winning the division, if he cheated anyways?  Braun, I am disappointed in you, as are the other 5,000 women who were hoping to become your future wife.  MVP?  More like MSP...Moste Shameful Player.

Commerce..Education..and ah....Oops..

Rick Perry is a Republican presidential candidate, and recently became the talk of politics when he lost his train of thought during a debate, making a fool of himself on live television.  To start, I'd like to point out that during a debate, or really any time you are going to be on national television, you should probably have your ideas planned out, along with maybe, say, a script.  Want to torpedo your run for the presidency in ten seconds? Forget what you're talking about during a debate, having the other candidates make a fool of you.  I'm not going to lie, I do feel a little bit bad for Rick Perry.  1) He's on national television, so he is bound to be nervous. And  2) He's under pressure with quick answers.  I can see why he would be so nervous that he forgets what his points are.  But I also think that if you are running for something as important as president, you need to be better prepared to be put on the spot.  The people of America don't want to have to worry about a president being ill-prepared.  I personally think Rick Perry has botched his chances of presidency, all because of a minor mistake. Anyone else would've thought that this was no big deal if it happened in every day life to someone, but the fact that this was a debate, on national television, for the presidency, makes it all that more of a big deal.
The link to this video is http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-YdS7HGO_Ik in case you want to watch the mistake that Rick Perry made.  You'll notice he forgets his third example. For future reference, Rick, come to a debate with preparation.

Ohhh baby baby..wait, MY baby?

Justin Bieber = ....daddy??  Claims by a girl named Mariah Yeater say that Justin Bieber fathered her newborn baby boy..Apparently they "did the deed" after a concert in the stage bathroom.  Justin Bieber is completely denying the claims, will take a paternity test after he returns from England, and says "when" the test comes back negative, he plans on sueing Mariah Yeater.  I, personally, have a hard time believing both sides.  First of all, the account that Mariah Yeater recalls doesn't sound like Justin Bieber whatsoever.  The weird thing is though, when this so called "encounter" occured, Biebs would've been 16, and Mariah would've been 19. This opens up Mariah to statutory rape charges if this really happened. So I dont understand why Mariah would bring this up unless it actually occured.  Justin Bieber, who is only 17, has been under the spotlight since about the age of 13.  He might be learning for the first time that being such a famous celebrity isn't all it's cracked up to be.  Or, he might be learning that his fans are crazy. Which we all know by know. "Beliebers", aka Justin's fanbase, have threatened to kill Mariah if she doesn't take back her "accusations" of Justin being her baby's father.  Not going to lie, how on Earth is everyone so obsessed with Justin Bieber?  So obsessed, in fact, that they would threaten to kill someone.  What if Biebs really is the father of her baby?  Then those fans are going to feel awfully stupid.  On the other hand, If JB really isn't the father (which I'm leaning towards), and Mariah Yeater is doing this all as a publicity stunt, I almost think she deserves negative comments towards her. Not death threats of course, but I mean come on, how low can you go? I HOPE JB isn't the father, but it would be a little funny if he was.

Lady Gag-me

We've all seen Lady Gaga and her outlandish outfits.  Sometimes she looks like a guy. Sometimes she has pink hair. Or sometimes she's seen picking her wedgie.  Ok, ok, ok.  We all know this happens. But Lady Gaga, here's a piece of advice: if you wear outfits like you do, don't be surprised when you're in the spotlight and embarrassed.  Look, you know you're going to have "Papa-paparazzi" all over you ALL THE TIME. But then make sure that you're always presentable.  I know Lady Gaga is just a person. But she works sooo hard to stand out and be in the center of attention.  So why is she surprised when people have something to say, point out, or make fun of her?  Yes, Lady Gaga is unique. Yes, she has become an icon in the music world.  And yes, she makes it a point to make sure she is about as liberal as they come.  But really, behave in public then.  Can you say "overrated"?  At what point do you get so famous, that you can do whatever you want in public? No matter how disgusting it may be?  Apparently Lady Gaga hit that point.  What's next? Picking her nose?  I mean, grow some respect for your fans.  And yourself for goodness sakes.  I guess, personally, I'm sick of hearing about how amazing Lady Gaga is.  I think she's overrated, I think her costumes are all just attempts to get more publicity and attention.  And I really don't think her songs have all that great of meanings behind them.  She sings about paparazzi, Alejandro, and being on "the edge". The edge of what?  Jail time? She tries to make it seem "ok" in our society to wear what she wears and acts how she acts.  But its not. Never has been and never will be.

The name's Kardashian...not Humphries

I'm sure we've all heard about "The Kardashian Wedding" or watched the drama leading up to it unfold on national television. It supposedly cost more than the Royal Wedding, and has aired on T.V. multiple times.  All that work, money, and time spent on this wedding between Kim Kardashian and the NBA player Kris Humphries, may be a waste.  Rumors of a divorce are swirling, just two months into the marriage.  Apparently, it all started when Kris was out partying while he's off the job due to the NBA strike.  Well, is there any way that it could have started when Kim refused to take Kris's last name?  Right there, before they even got married, issues arose.  I can't imagine that Kris was too happy with Kim's family influencing here decision of not changing her last name to Humphries.  If I was Kris, I'd be upset too!  Kim...your wedding is on national T.V...EVERYONE is going to know that you changed your last name..How can you be worried about people not knowing who you are? And Kris- if you're a famous basketball player who just had one of the most famous weddings in America, how do you think that you can go party, call up your ex-girlfriend, and get other girls' numbers? Not. Smooth. Personally, both of these people are screw-ups.  My question is how you can be SO UNHAPPY with SO MUCH?? Nothing is ever good enough to these people. What happened to good, old-fashioned, true, LOVE?  Celebrities, more than anyone else, need to be careful of dating or marrying because they're under the spotlight constantly.  How do they not understand this?  If you don't plan on staying with the person you're with, don't get married. And DEFINITELY don't spend millions of dollars on it, and then air it on national television 20 times.

Celebrity Screw-ups..The Beginning

Celebrities are always in the spotlight.  They act like they hate it, but we all know that deep down they love it.  And we, as the people who put them IN the spotlight and on a pedestal, love to hate them.  In this blog, I'll pick a celebrity and bask in the glory of their mistakes each week. I'll be writing for Cosmopolitan magazine.   Their style of writing is fairly sarcastic, humorous, and very entertaining.  Cosmo always contains new gossip on celebrities, fashion, and it's definitely a magazine for women, but I'll try to pick humorous happenings that will appeal to the males as well.
